Misinformation on LPG supply creating unnecessary panic: CM

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday warned of strict action against those spreading rumours about a potential LPG shortage, saying that such misinformation was creating unnecessary panic among people.
Speaking at an event at Apna Ghar Ashram in Budhpur, the chief minister said both the Centre and the Delhi Government are closely monitoring the situation, and there was no reason for citizens to panic. She said certain elements were attempting to create fear and encourage hoarding by spreading misleading information, which she described as being against the national interest.
The chief minister noted that the government was keeping a close watch on such activities and warned that strict action would be taken against any individual or organisation found spreading misinformation or indulging in wrongdoing. She also appealed to citizens not to pay attention to rumours and to continue with their daily routines.
Earlier in the day, the chief minister attended the 12th anniversary celebration and the silver jubilee programme of Apna Ghar Ashram in Budhpur, where she praised the organisation for its service to destitute and abandoned people. During the event, the chief minister also announced financial assistance for the construction of a paved road leading to the Ashram to improve connectivity and assured the organisation of government support in addressing administrative and infrastructure-related requirements. The Chief Minister said organisations like Apna Ghar Ashram play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable individuals who have been separated from their families or left without care.
“These institutions become a ray of hope for people who have been abandoned or are unable to care for themselves,” she said.
According to the Chief Minister, the organisation not only provides shelter but also ensures essential services, including food, clothing, medical treatment, and proper care, for its residents. She described the institution as a “living example of humanity and compassion”. During the event, the Chief Minister also assured that the Delhi government would extend support to address administrative and infrastructure issues related to the Ashram’s operations.
She stated that the government would assist in strengthening medical facilities and ensuring the availability of doctors and other essential services for the residents of the institution. Member of Parliament Yogendra Chandoliya, Narela MLA Raj Karan Khatri, and several other dignitaries were also present at the event.
