Massive Fire Breaks Out in Rajdhani Express Near Ratlam, Passengers Safely Evacuated

A major fire broke out in the Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express near Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh early Sunday morning, prompting an immediate emergency response. Railway officials confirmed that all passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries or casualties were reported.
The incident occurred around 5:15 am in the B-1 coach and an adjoining Seating-cum-Luggage Rake (SLR) coach of Train No. 12431 between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot stations under the West Central Railway's Kota Division. Around 68 passengers were present in the affected coach when the fire was noticed.
The train guard first detected smoke and flames coming from the compartment and immediately informed the loco pilot, who halted the train. Railway staff, along with Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, quickly carried out evacuation procedures and cleared the coach within minutes.
Officials immediately disconnected the overhead electric supply and detached the affected coach to prevent the fire from spreading further. Rescue teams and senior railway officials reached the site to supervise operations. Railway authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
