Mamata Banerjee claims TMC will win over 226 seats in Bengal

Mamata Banerjee has asserted confidence that her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), will secure a strong majority in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, claiming it will win more than 226 seats in the 294-member house.
In a video message posted on X ahead of counting day, Banerjee alleged that exit poll projections being circulated in the media were influenced by the BJP and aimed at demoralising TMC workers. She claimed that some television projections were prepared and distributed from BJP offices.
She further stated that the TMC could even cross 230 seats, expressing full confidence in what she described as a “massive mandate” from the people of the state.
Banerjee also accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of influencing the conduct of central forces during the election process, alleging that they acted in favour of the BJP throughout polling.
According to her, the ruling party remains confident of forming the government with a comfortable two-thirds majority, dismissing exit poll projections as politically motivated.
