LG Sandhu performs Joda Seva at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Sunday offered prayers and performed “Joda Seva” at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib on the occasion of the Jyoti Jot Diwas of Guru Angad Dev Ji.
Sources said Sandhu chose to clean the shoes of devotees (Joda Seva), a form of service seen as an act of humility in Sikh tradition. He was also offered the opportunity to perform “Langar Seva”, which involves serving food and cleaning utensils, but opted for Joda Seva instead.
People familiar with his routine said this was not the first time Sandhu undertook such service. They said he has been performing Jod Seva for years, including during his student days. According to those aware of his background, Sandhu would regularly visit Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib while studying at St Stephen’s College and perform similar service. He is also said to have continued the practice after joining the Indian Foreign Service.
Sources added that during his early postings in Delhi, he would visit Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib and engage in Joda Seva.
