Kia Syros EV bookings open in India at Rs 25,000

Kia India has unveiled the Syros EV, its second mass-market electric SUV for India, and opened pre-bookings at Rs 25,000. Positioned as a confidence-building EV for mainstream buyers, the Syros EV brings a claimed ARAI-certified range of 526 km with the larger 51.4 kWh battery pack, making it the first in its segment to cross the 500 km mark. A 42-kWh version is also on offer with a claimed range of 443 km.
The new SUV is aimed at addressing the three biggest concerns around EV ownership: range, resale value and battery life. Kia is backing the Syros EV with a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty, an assured buyback programme and Battery-as-a-Service financing to reduce upfront costs. The company says the package is designed to make electric mobility more predictable and worry-free for Indian customers.
On the performance front, the Syros EV develops 171 PS, which Kia says is best-in-segment, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.1 seconds with the larger battery. Fast charging from 10 to 80 percent takes 39 minutes using a 100 kW DC charger. The SUV also gets a battery conditioning function to improve charging efficiency, along with 10.8 kW AC charging support.
Kia has equipped the Syros EV with a long list of connected and convenience features. These include its K-Charge ecosystem, which brings more than 20,300 charging points across 23 operators into a single wallet on the MyKia app. The vehicle also gets a 30-inch panoramic display panel, Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio, OTA updates, wireless smartphone connectivity, ventilated seats, a dual-pane sunroof and a 16-litre frunk.
Safety is another major focus. The Syros EV comes with Level 2 ADAS featuring 16 autonomous functions, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and forward collision-avoidance features. It also gets six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a 360-degree camera.
Kia will offer the Syros EV in seven trims across two battery options, with bookings now open through its website and dealerships nationwide. The launch strengthens Kia’s push in India’s fast-growing EV market, where buyers are increasingly looking beyond range alone and toward technology, convenience and long-term ownership value.
