Karnataka Doctor Murder: Police probe deepens as wife's insulin injection raises questions

Fresh developments have emerged in the investigation into the murder of a doctor in Karnataka's Dharwad, with police revealing that the victim's wife allegedly injected herself with insulin after the incident and is currently undergoing treatment. Investigators also said there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment, suggesting that the incident may have involved someone known to the victim.
The victim, Dr. Kiran Honannavar, was found dead inside his apartment, while the couple's young son sustained serious stab injuries and is receiving medical treatment. According to police, only the doctor, his wife and their son were present in the house at the time of the incident. Authorities are examining forensic evidence, CCTV footage, electronic devices and witness statements to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Police have not yet disclosed a motive and said the investigation remains at a sensitive stage. Officials have urged the public to avoid speculation until forensic reports and other evidence are fully analysed. Further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
