JD(U) leaders hail PM’s praise for Nitish Kumar

Bihar JD(U) leaders on Saturday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s praise for Nitish Kumar after the latter was sworn in as a Rajya Sabha MP.
Modi had on Friday congratulated the Bihar chief minister on taking oath as a Rajya Sabha member and said he is one of the most experienced leaders in the country, and his commitment to good governance has been appreciated everywhere.
Talking to reporters, JD(U) national president Sanjay Jha said, “Modi shares deep personal respect for Kumar and his way of working. What he has expressed through his social media post is exactly what he feels about the Bihar CM.” State transport minister and JD(U) leader Shrawon Kumar, too, hailed the prime minister’s congratulatory message.
“The PM has appreciated Kumar’s work, and I am grateful for this. This appreciation is not because he is going to the Rajya Sabha, but for the work Kumar has done over the past 20 years to ensure development with social justice,” the minister said.
He said that under Kumar’s two-decade-long rule, the term ‘Bihari’ has come to be associated with pride and self-respect. “Today, Nitish Kumar’s name is on everyone’s lips. His thinking, his vision, and his style of working have been truly remarkable and impactful,” Kumar added.
Responding to Yadav’s remarks levelling Kumar’s decision to go to Rajya Sabha as an “imposed” one and under “pressure,” Jha said, “What else can you expect from him (Tejaswi Yadav)? People showed him his actual position in the 2025 Assembly elections. We, on the other hand, continue to be guided under the leadership of Nitish Kumar ji. Even as he goes to the Rajya Sabha, Kumar will remain the undisputed leader in our Government.”
