Jamia Hamdard to host Kashmiri Youth Exchange Programme

In a first-of-its-kind, the deemed to be university, Jamia Hamdard, is all set to organise a Kashmiri Youth Exchange Programme (KYEP) in the national Capital from January 17 to January 22, 2026. The students of six districts from the valley, including 80 boys and 50 girls, have been selected for the programme, who will stay in Delhi for six days.
Addressing a press conference in this regard, the Officiating Vice Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, Prof. Asgar Ali, stated, “We are proud to host this great event — the My Bharat Kashmir Youth Exchange Programme. The event is organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.”
“Different events will be conducted to bring them together and to develop a feeling that we are Hindustani, we are Bharatiya, and we are not separate. So, they will be shown Jamia Hamdard and the culture of Jamia Hamdard,” said Ali.
A total of 132 youth participants from six districts of Kashmir — Anantnag, Kupwara, Baramulla, Budgam, Srinagar and Pulwama — will attend the programme. Its primary objective is to promote cultural exchange and national integration.
“The primary goal of this exchange is to provide Kashmiri youth with a platform to experience the diverse cultural landscape of the national Capital while promoting the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. By interacting with peers and visiting sites of historical and educational importance, the participants are encouraged to act as ambassadors of peace and integrity within their home regions.”
The Registrar of Jamia Hamdard, Colonel Tahir Mustafa, said, “We are delighted that Jamia Hamdard has been chosen as the host institute for the KYEP. We will also organise entrepreneur skill development classes for Kashmiri youth. There will be discussions on national integration, unity and diversity and many more,” Col Mustafa said.
