IPL match to trigger traffic curbs near Arun Jaitley Stadium

Traffic restrictions will be enforced in central Delhi on April 25 in view of the Indian Premier League match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings at Arun Jaitley Stadium. The day and night match is scheduled from 3 pm to 7.30 pm, and police expect heavy congestion in the surrounding areas.
According to the Delhi Traffic Police, diversions and restrictions will be imposed on key roads around the stadium from 1 pm to 9 pm, depending on traffic conditions. Authorities said the measures are necessary to manage large crowds and ensure public safety during the match.
Commuters have been advised to avoid major stretches, including JLN Marg from Rajghat to Delhi Gate, Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate, and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg from Delhi Gate to ITO. Both carriageways on these roads are likely to witness heavy congestion as spectators arrive and disperse.
Restrictions will also apply to the movement of heavy and commercial vehicles. Such vehicles will not be allowed on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg between Daryaganj and Delhi Gate, on JLN Marg between Delhi Gate and Guru Nanak Chowk, and on the stretch from ITO to Delhi Gate. These restrictions will remain in force during peak hours of match-related movement.
Police said entry to the stadium will be regulated through designated gates. Gates 1 to 8, located on the southern side, will be accessible from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. Gates 10 to 15, on the eastern side, can be accessed via JLN Marg near Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal.
