IP University to hold 18th convocation on April 9

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) will hold its 18th convocation on April 9 at its East Delhi campus, where over 26,000 degrees, including 124 PhDs, will be awarded to graduating students.
The convocation will be presided over by the Chancellor of the university and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Education Minister Ashish Sood will also attend the ceremony as guests of honour. Secretary of Higher and Technical Education Sanjeev Ahuja will also be present at the event.
According to Controller of Examinations Prof. Gulshan Kumar, a total of 26,649 degrees will be conferred during the ceremony. This includes 124 doctoral degrees, marking a significant academic milestone for the university.
The convocation will also recognise academic excellence through a series of medals and awards. A total of 76 gold medals will be presented to meritorious students across disciplines.
Among the key honours, the Dr B.P. Joshi Medal will be awarded to the topper of the MBA programme. Other major recognitions include the Siddharth Khitolia Award and the Ashok Sawhney Award for Excellence in Technology.
