IndiGo appoints Aloke Singh as Chief Strategy Officer

The board of InterGlobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo, has approved the appointment of Aloke Singh as the airline’s new Chief Strategy Officer.
In his new role, Singh will oversee long-term strategic planning and lead company-wide transformation initiatives aimed at boosting growth, improving efficiency, and strengthening IndiGo’s competitive position in the global aviation market.
He is also expected to work closely with senior leadership on cross-functional priorities, including enhancing customer experience and ensuring sustainable value creation. Singh brings more than 30 years of experience in the aviation sector, with expertise across strategy, operations, planning, and commercial functions.
He is widely recognized for managing large-scale transformations and driving rapid expansion. Prior to this appointment, Singh served as Managing Director and CEO of Air India Express, where he played a key role in improving operational performance and accelerating growth. His earlier career includes senior leadership roles in strategy at Air India and Oman Air. Welcoming the appointment, IndiGo Managing Director Rahul Bhatia said Singh’s combination of strategic insight and operational expertise would support the airline’s next phase of expansion. He added that Singh will initially report directly to him and later transition to reporting to the incoming Chief Executive Officer.
Speaking on his new role, Singh said he was pleased to join IndiGo at a crucial time for both the airline and the broader Indian aviation sector. He noted that as IndiGo expands its global ambitions, he looks forward to strengthening its strategy, enhancing operational excellence, and expanding its market reach.
