India UAE Sign Defence And Energy Pacts during PM Modi Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
During the meeting, India and the United Arab Emirates signed key agreements related to strategic defence cooperation, petroleum reserves and the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Addressing the UAE President, PM Modi condemned the attacks on the UAE amid the regional conflict and said the impact of the West Asia crisis was being felt globally.
“India is ready to extend all possible support to bring peace,” the Prime Minister said during delegation-level talks.
Energy security remained a key focus of the discussions as India continues to closely monitor disruptions in oil supplies and maritime trade routes caused by tensions in the region.
PM Modi also thanked the UAE leadership for the warm welcome extended to him upon arrival in Abu Dhabi. His aircraft was escorted by UAE F16 fighter jets as it entered the country’s airspace, followed by a ceremonial guard of honour.
The UAE visit marks the first leg of PM Modi’s five-nation diplomatic tour, which will also include visits to the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy.
The visit is aimed at deepening India’s strategic and economic partnerships with key global partners amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
