India U19 seal Test Series with 211-run win against Sri Lanka

India U19 beat Sri Lanka U19 by 211 runs on the fourth day of the second Youth Test on Thursday, sealing the two-match series 1-0 after the opener ended in a draw.

Leg-spinner Rohit Yadav and pacer C. Venkata did the bulk of the damage, sharing seven wickets between them as Sri Lanka's innings folded well short of a daunting chase.

The result marked a strong turnaround for India, who had lost the preceding Youth ODI series 1-2 against the same opponents.

Resuming the day at 155 for four while chasing an imposing target of 472, Sri Lanka U19 were bowled out for 260 in 76.5 overs, wrapping up shortly after the lunch break.

Skipper Vimath Dinsara, who had carried an overnight score of 55 runs was the first big wicket to fall, dismissed for 64 by pacer Pranav Raghavendra. His departure effectively ended any lingering hopes of a fightback anticipated by the Sri Lankan team.

Yadav, who finished with figures of 4 for 49, followed up on Venkata's three-wicket haul from the previous evening and cut through the lower order to leave Sri Lanka reeling at 242 for nine.

A brief resistance came from Sethmika Seneviratne, who struck a quickfire 42 off 49 balls with six fours and a six, but it only delayed the finish.

Off-spinner J. Hemuchudeshan closed out the match, dismissing Seneviratne to complete India's 211-run victory and the series win.
