India-funded hospital foundation laid in Nepal’s Manang district

India and Nepal jointly laid the foundation stone for a hospital building that will be built with financial aid from New Delhi in a remote municipality in the northern Manang district of the Himalayan nation.
Deputy chief of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Rakesh Pandey, and chairman of the Nason Rural Municipality, Dhan Bahadur Gurung, jointly laid the foundation stone for the construction of the hospital building at ward number 5 of the municipality on Thursday.
The hospital is being built with Indian assistance of NRs 56 million under the High Impact Community Development project, a press release by the Indian Embassy said.
Gurung appreciated India for providing development support and expected that the new facility would help provide better health care services in the area, which is almost a day’s drive in a high-altitude area about 280 kms northwest of Kathmandu.
India continues with aiding construction of colleges, schools, hospitals and community halls as part of the High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) across the length and breadth of Nepal.
