IMD issues yellow alert for Delhi-NCR as rain brings relief from heat

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Delhi-NCR as light rainfall brought much-needed relief to residents after days of intense heat and humidity. The weather department has forecast more showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds across the region.
Several parts of the national capital witnessed rainfall on Tuesday, leading to a drop in temperatures and improved weather conditions. The IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky with chances of light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in Delhi and adjoining areas, including Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad.
The weather agency has advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid unnecessary outdoor movement during periods of strong winds and lightning activity. The alert comes as monsoon activity has intensified over parts of north India.
The rainfall provided relief from the recent spell of oppressive heat, when high humidity had pushed the discomfort level significantly across the Capital. Cooler conditions following the showers offered respite to people across Delhi-NCR.
According to the IMD forecast, intermittent rain and thunderstorm activity is likely to continue, with authorities monitoring weather conditions across the region. Residents have been advised to follow official weather updates and take precautions during adverse conditions.
