Hundreds arrested after PSG Champions League celebrations turn violent in France

Celebrations following Paris Saint-Germain's UEFA Champions League victory turned chaotic across France, especially in Paris, where large crowds gathered to celebrate.
What began as joyful festivities quickly escalated into unrest, leading to hundreds of arrests and clashes with police.
According to French authorities, more than 400 people were detained nationwide, with a large number of arrests taking place in Paris.
Several vehicles were set on fire, businesses were damaged, and police officers were injured during the disturbances. Security forces were deployed in large numbers to control the situation and restore order in affected areas.
French officials strongly condemned the violence, calling it unacceptable and stressing that celebrations should never lead to destruction or public disorder.
The incidents have once again raised concerns about crowd management and public safety during major sporting events. Despite the unrest, many fans celebrated peacefully as PSG secured one of the biggest achievements in the club’s history.
