Heat wave conditions in southern, western Nepal districts

Several districts in south-west Nepal may face extremely high temperatures apart from a heat wave in western Terai areas starting from Saturday till Monday, disaster management officials said.
Some areas in southern districts of Lumbini and Sudur Paschim Provinces may witness extremely high temperatures crossing 40 degree Celsius, warned a National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Authority (NDRRMA) notice.
Moderate heat waves are expected to affect some parts of the two provinces, the notice said, adding, six districts, namely, Banke, Dang, Bardiya, Doti, Kailali and Kanchanpur are listed under districts where people are cautioned against high temperature and heat waves.
Sudur Paschim and Lumbini normally experience temperatures around 40 degree Celsius or more during summer, meteorological officials said.
