Gupta launches civic improvement works

Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a series of civic improvement works in Rohini, aimed at delivering visible and tangible change at the grassroots level.
“Local infrastructure must deliver visible and tangible change on the ground. Roads, water supply and sanitation are central to dignified urban living and must be strengthened with clarity and urgency,” Gupta said while inaugurating the projects.
The initiatives, with a total estimated cost of Rs 50 lakhs, cover Sectors 7 and 8, including Naharpur Village. The works focus on constructing new lanes, replacing old water pipelines, and upgrading sewer and drainage systems to address long-pending demands of residents.
In sector 8, construction of new lanes across multiple residential pockets to improve internal connectivity, reconstruction of drains in Pocket B4, redevelopment of RMC lanes in Pocket A-1 and replacement of water pipelines in two drains in Pocket A-16 have been completed.
In Naharpur Village, renovation of sewer lines at two locations to enhance sanitation and drainage, replacement of water pipelines in drains at Pockets D12 and G22 for a more reliable water supply in Sector 7.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta emphasised that sustained focus on neighbourhood-level infrastructure is essential for meaningful and inclusive development.
“Targeted improvements in roads, water systems and sanitation directly impact everyday life and must be implemented. with efficiency and accountability,” he added.
He stressed the need for timely execution so that these interventions translate into real benefits for residents and strengthen public trust in governance.
The projects are being executed in close coordination with local stakeholders to ensure they precisely meet on-ground requirements.
