Govt provides employment to Yamuna tragedy victim’s wife

The Delhi Government on Tuesday provided employment to the wife of BJP worker Kuldeep Nainwal, who lost his life in the Yamuna tragedy in the Karawal Nagar Assembly constituency. The move aimed at offering long-term support to the bereaved family. The appointment was granted to Deepa Nainwal, the deceased worker’s wife, as part of a decision taken earlier by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to ensure livelihood security for the family.
Officials said the employment was provided in line with the Government’s commitment to extend concrete assistance beyond immediate relief in cases of tragedy. The appointment was formalised on February 3 in the presence of Delhi’s Minister for Law and Justice and Karawal Nagar MLA Kapil Mishra, who has been coordinating support measures for the family since the incident.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Government’s approach in such cases is focused on long-term rehabilitation rather than symbolic assurances. She said the decision to provide employment was taken to help the family rebuild its life with stability and dignity after the loss of its sole earning member. “This Government does not limit itself to words of sympathy in times of crisis. We take decisions at the ground level to secure the future of affected families,” the Chief Minister said. Minister Kapil Mishra said the step reflected the party’s responsibility towards its workers and their families. “We stand firmly with every BJP worker and will support them like a family in every adversity. This appointment reflects both sensitivity and responsibility,” Mishra said.
