Govt celebrates Statehood days

The Delhi Government on Wednesday organised a grand celebration of the Statehood Days of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura at the Delhi Secretariat. The celebrations were organised as part of its initiative to showcase the cultural heritage of different Indian states on a national platform. The event brought together senior Government officials, artists and cultural troupes from the three northeastern States and highlighted their folk traditions, music and dance.
The programme was held in line with an announcement made by the Delhi Government in February 2025 to formally observe the Statehood Days of various States with dignity and scale. Officials said the objective of the initiative is to promote cultural exchange and present the diversity of India’s regions to a wider audience in the national Capital.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conveyed her greetings on the occasion and underlined the importance of recognising the cultural identity of all states. Senior officials of the Art, Culture and Language Department, including the Secretary of the department, were present at the event.
The highlight of the programme was a series of cultural performances curated by the Sahitya Kala Parishad.
