Government to procure 2 lakh national flags from SHGs for Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign
The Delhi Government will procure around two lakh national flags from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Sunday.
She said the initiative will combine the spirit of patriotism with livelihood generation for women and community groups across the Capital.
The government plans to distribute more than 15 lakh national flags across Delhi ahead of Independence Day as part of the nationwide campaign. In addition to procurement from online marketplaces, a significant share of the flags will be produced by eligible Self-Help Groups identified through the State Urban Livelihood Mission.
Chief Minister said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is not limited to hoisting the national flag but also aims to strengthen patriotism, national unity and public participation. She said the government wants every section of society to become part of the campaign while creating opportunities for economic empowerment.
The Chief Minister said involving Self-Help Groups in the production of national flags reflects the government’s effort to link welfare programmes with sustainable livelihood opportunities. Members of these groups will not only earn an income but will also contribute directly to a national campaign centred on the Tricolour.
According to the Government, around two lakh national flags will be manufactured by eligible Self-Help Groups organised under the State Urban Livelihood Mission. The mission works to improve the livelihoods of the urban poor by promoting Self Help Groups, encouraging entrepreneurship, and supporting skill development and self-employment.
