Government to launch Rs 325 crore Campus to Market startup policy

Delhi’s Training and Technical Education Minister Ashish Sood on Friday announced a new “Campus to Market” Startup Incubation Policy, with an allocation of Rs 325 crore over the next five years to support 5,000 startups.
The announcement was made during the Delhi Startup Yuva Festival 2026 at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Kashmere Gate.
Sood interacted with the top 100 shortlisted student startups during a special session organised by the Department of Training and Technical Education. He said the Government’s goal is to provide structured support from the idea stage to market launch.
Under the proposed policy, startups will receive end-to-end support. This will include intellectual property protection, fair valuation, access to funding, market linkages and institutional facilitation. The minister said the aim is to ensure that student innovation does not stop at presentations but reaches real markets.
He informed that nearly 1,000 startups participated in the festival. Out of these, 700 teams made detailed presentations. Finally, 100 startups were shortlisted for the interactive session.
Sood appreciated the innovation and technical skills displayed by the young entrepreneurs. He said the Delhi Government is committed not only to providing degrees but also to creating opportunities for students. He added that Delhi’s youth have strong potential and can gain global recognition with proper guidance and support.
The minister said promoting a startup culture is essential. He stressed that students should become job creators instead of job seekers. He assured that the government is strengthening the startup ecosystem through mentorship, training and investment support.
During the session, the selected startups presented their ideas. The minister also heard suggestions from participants. He directed departmental officials to ensure necessary coordination and support.
