GGSIPU opens admissions for 2026-27

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) on Wednesday opened admissions for 2026-27, unveiling 24 new courses and expanded opportunities for students. Admission brochures for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programmes were released at a function at the India International Centre.
The admission brochures were jointly released by Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and IP University Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Mahesh Verma. The online application process will begin on February 2. With over 43,000 seats available across more than 130 affiliated colleges and university schools, candidates can apply to a broad range of academic programmes.
Speaking at the event, Education Minister Ashish Sood said the launch of the admission brochure reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening public education in Delhi. Recalling his own student days, he said that earlier, many students were compelled to leave Delhi for higher education due to limited opportunities and the burden of capitation fees. “That mindset has changed today. IP University has emerged as a strong example of quality public education for the new generation,” he said.
The minister noted that the university now offers over 230 academic programmes across diverse fields, including artificial intelligence, robotics, data science, law, medicine, and design, backed by a large network of affiliated institutions. He added that the expansion of courses will further strengthen Delhi’s position as a hub for higher education.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahesh Verma said the addition of new courses is aligned with emerging industry needs and evolving academic trends. This year, the university has introduced several new programmes, including Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Lateral Entry in B.S. (Packaging Technology), M.Tech. in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, M.A. Mass Communication (Weekend Programme), and additional weekend programmes in select disciplines.
