Maharashtra: Five killed, 20 injured as truck hits pickup van on Samruddhi Highway

Five people were killed and 20 others injured after a truck rammed into a Bolero pickup van on the Samruddhi Expressway near Dhamangaon in Maharashtra's Amravati district, police said on Friday.
The accident took place around 12.45 am on Channel 97 of the expressway near Dhamangaon railway station, a senior police official told PTI.
According to the official, the truck collided with the pickup van from behind, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to 21 others.
The injured were initially taken to Dhamangaon Rural Hospital and later referred to Wardha Medical College for further treatment, another official said.
Police said a detailed investigation into the accident is underway. (with inputs from PTI)
