First All India Moot Court Competition at Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta Law School concludes

The First All India Moot Court Competition at Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta Law School concluded successfully on April 29 with a prestigious valedictory ceremony. The two-day event stood as an excellent example of intense legal deliberation and advocacy skills.
The Chief Guest for the valedictory ceremony was Dr T R Naval, Additional District & Sessions Judge (Retd.). He was welcomed by Dr Vijay Dheer, Director (Coordination), who presented him with a shawl. Director Prof. (Dr) Niranjan Bhattacharya honored the Chief Guest with a sapling and a memento. Other dignitaries present included Prof. Dr Jogi Ram Sharma (Principal), Pankhuri Aggarwal (Assistant Director - HR), faculty members, and staff.
In his inspiring address, Dr T R Naval emphasised that moot court competitions are a powerful platform for shaping future advocates. Highlighting the growing influence of technology and artificial intelligence-particularly deepfake technology-he stressed the need for the law to evolve continuously. He encouraged students to develop discipline, knowledge, research aptitude, and logical reasoning, while remaining dedicated to serving society.
During the ceremony, the results of the competition were announced. The winning team was TC-34 from Law Centre-1, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi (Saloni Rawal, Abhyansh Dixit, and Arya Singh). They were awarded a trophy, certificates, and a cash prize of `25,000.
The Runner-Up team, TC-40 from IILM University, Greater Noida (Lavi Rajput, Devesh Verma, and Gummadi Harshini), received a trophy, certificates, and a cash prize of `15,000.
In individual categories, the Best Mooter Award was presented to Ashmaan Sharma (TC-36, Symbiosis Law School, Pune) along with `10,000. The Best Researcher Award was given to Pratima Punj (TC-06, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda) with a cash prize of `10,000. The Best Memorial Award was presented to Team TC-19 from Geeta Institute of Law, Panipat, along with `5,000.
With the success of its first edition, the competition has set a high benchmark for future editions and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to quality legal education and experiential learning.
The event concluded with the message that participation and experience are more important than winning, as they form the true foundation of success.
