Fire Breaks Out at Mumbai Airport Terminal 1B

A fire broke out inside Terminal 1B of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Thursday evening, triggering a swift emergency response and causing concern among passengers as thick smoke filled parts of the building. According to officials, the fire started around 6 pm in the seating area of the terminal. It was later found to have originated in cable trays and switch boxes located on the ground floor. The blaze was confined to this section and did not spread to other parts of the airport. Chief Fire Officer Ravindra Ambulgekar said that fire brigade teams rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the alert. Multiple fire tenders were deployed to control the situation. Police and local ward staff also joined the operation to manage the emergency and assist with evacuation if needed.
