FDA raids Siya Goyal’s family shop, seizes food products worth Rs 8 lakh

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has raided a spice and dry fruits shop in Pune owned by the family of Siya Goyal, one of the accused in the murder case of realtor Ketan Agarwal. During the inspection, officials seized food products worth more than ₹8 lakh over alleged violations of food safety regulations.
According to the FDA, several food items were found to be in violation of food safety norms. Authorities also collected samples of products for laboratory testing and initiated further action under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
Following the inspection, the shop has been directed to suspend business operations until further orders from the department. The raid comes amid the ongoing investigation into the Ketan Agarwal murder case, in which Siya Goyal is an accused.
Officials clarified that the FDA action is related to alleged food safety violations at the business establishment, while the criminal investigation into the murder case is being handled separately by the police. Authorities said further action will depend on the outcome of laboratory tests and the ongoing inquiry.
