Faridabad duo opens fire at teen's home, jailed for 'revenge' shooting

Two men were jailed for opening fire at the residence of a Class 12 student, who allegedly misbehaved with the cousin sister of one of them at school, police said on Wednesday.

The accused were Abhishek (22) and Aman alias Fallu (25), both residents of Faridpur village in Faridabad, they said.

According to officials, Rohit, a resident of Kheri village, lodged a complaint at BPTP police station alleging that some youths assaulted the Class 12 student on July 31, when he was returning from school. Later, two youths arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at the student's house with an illegal weapon, intending to create terror, the complaint said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the student had misbehaved with Abhishek's uncle's daughter, who studies at the same school as him.

Following the complaint, a police team arrested the accused Abhishek and Aman on Sunday night. They were produced before a city court, which remanded them to two days of police custody.

"After interrogation, a country-made pistol and a cartridge were recovered from the prime accused, Abhishek, while the motorcycle used in the crime was recovered from co-accused Aman. Further investigation revealed that Abhishek had purchased the country-made pistol about a year ago. We have identified the arms supplier; he will be arrested soon," said a Faridabad Police spokesperson.

After completion of their remand period, the accused were produced before the court, which sent them to jail, the police spokesperson said.
