Enthusiasm marks welcome in Tel Aviv

Narendra Modi was greeted with extraordinary enthusiasm by the Indian community in Tel Aviv on Wednesday as he commenced his two-day state visit to Israel. Braving tight security and winter chill, members of the diaspora gathered in large numbers outside the Prime Minister’s hotel, waving the Tricolour and raising patriotic slogans.

His current visit is being viewed as the next significant step in deepening cooperation across strategic and economic domains.

For the Indian diaspora in Israel, however, Wednesday’s scenes were less about geopolitics and more about pride and connection. As chants of support echoed through Tel Aviv’s streets, the message was unmistakable: The India-Israel partnership rests not only on policy alignment, but also on strong people-to-people bonds.
