Encounter breaks out between security forces, terrorists in J&K

A fresh encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Village Soan, Majalta, Udhampur district, on Monday.
The operation was launched after troops initiated a search operation based on specific intelligence inputs. In a post on X, Inspector General of Jammu range said, “On a precise input from JKP, contact was established with terrorists at Village Soan, Majalta Udhampur on Monday.”
A joint team of the Special Operations Group of the Jammu and Kashmir police, along with the Army and the CRPF, have cordoned off the entire area. Additional troops have been rushed to the spot to plug the gaps, if any, to prevent the escape of terrorists trapped in the area. Meanwhile, in Jammu, Praveen Kumar, DG BSF, visited the Jammu Frontier to review the security situation along the Jammu International Border. Shashank Anand, Inspector General, BSF Jammu Frontier, briefed DG BSF on the prevailing security scenario and operational preparedness along the border.
During the visit, DG BSF, accompanied by Satish S. Khandare, ADG (Western Command), and IG, BSF Jammu, visited the Samba and Kathua border areas. DG BSF reviewed the border management system, counter-infiltration grid, and overall security arrangements along the International Border, assessed operational preparedness, and lauded the unwavering commitment, operational excellence, and resilience of BSF Praharis.
He also reviewed Smart Border Technology projects focused on strengthening surveillance, operational efficiency, and overall border security.
