Donald Trump Arrives In Beijing For High-Stakes Talks With Xi Jinping

US President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing for crucial talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, with discussions expected to focus on the Iran conflict, trade tensions and US arms sales to Taiwan.
The much-anticipated summit will take place on Thursday, when both leaders are scheduled to hold formal bilateral talks followed by a state banquet.
According to reports, China is extending a high-profile ceremonial welcome to the US President upon his arrival. Air Force One landed in Beijing earlier in the day, where Trump is expected to be received by senior Chinese and US officials.
The welcoming delegation includes Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, China’s Ambassador to the US Xie Feng, Executive Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, and US envoy to Beijing David Perdue.
The ceremony is expected to feature a military honour guard, a military band, and participation from around 300 Chinese youth, reflecting the diplomatic significance of the visit.
The talks come at a sensitive time in global geopolitics, with tensions over Iran, Taiwan, and trade relations dominating the agenda between the two major powers.
