DMK slams Rahul Gandhi as “Politically Immature,” calls him “Big Joke” in sharp editorial attack

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has launched a sharp political attack on Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, with its party mouthpiece Murasoli and IT wing accusing him of weakening opposition unity and displaying “political immaturity.”
In a strongly worded editorial, Murasoli described Rahul Gandhi’s approach to alliance politics as inconsistent and argued that his actions have contributed to internal divisions within the INDIA bloc. The publication also questioned his ability to maintain cohesion among opposition parties, especially at a time when unity against the ruling party has been a central political theme.
The DMK IT wing also joined the criticism, referring to the Congress leadership in harsh terms and alleging that the party had shifted political alliances after benefiting from earlier support in Tamil Nadu. The remarks reflect growing strain between the two parties following recent political realignments in the state.
The editorial further accused the Congress of repeatedly undermining alliance partners across different states, citing past electoral disputes and differences within opposition coalitions. It also referenced tensions between Congress and Left parties in Kerala, where allies have previously objected to statements made by Rahul Gandhi during campaign periods.
At the state level, relations between DMK and Congress have also deteriorated after the Congress reportedly moved away from the DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu and aligned with a new political formation, leaving the DMK leading a reshaped opposition front.
Murasoli argued that such developments raise questions about the Congress party’s commitment to coalition discipline and opposition unity. It further claimed that criticism within the INDIA bloc is increasingly directed inward rather than focused on the ruling party.
The Congress has not issued an official response to the editorial at this stage, though party sources have rejected the allegations, stating that its decisions were guided by electoral outcomes and democratic mandate in Tamil Nadu.
