Delhi to become India's education hub, says CM Rekha Gupta

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said the government is committed to transforming the national capital into a leading education hub by strengthening schools, colleges and higher education institutions. Speaking at the diamond jubilee celebrations of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, she emphasised that education should not only provide academic knowledge but also instil values, patriotism and a sense of responsibility among students.
Gupta said the Delhi government is working to improve educational infrastructure, promote innovation and create better learning opportunities for students. She stressed that young people should strive to become job creators rather than job seekers and contribute to building a developed and self-reliant India.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of combining quality education with character-building to prepare students for future challenges. During the event, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College celebrated its 60-year journey, with university officials and faculty members reflecting on the institution's contribution to higher education.
The Delhi government reiterated its focus on expanding educational opportunities and making the city a preferred destination for students from across the country through continued investment in academic excellence and modern infrastructure.
