Delhi Govt withdraws work-from-home and staggered office timings for employees

The Delhi government has withdrawn the work-from-home (WFH) arrangement and staggered office timings that were introduced earlier this year as part of fuel conservation measures. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the special provisions would no longer be in effect, citing the improvement in the geopolitical situation that had prompted the temporary measures.
The WFH policy, introduced in May, required government employees to work from home for two days a week. Staggered office timings were also implemented to reduce fuel consumption, traffic congestion and pressure on public transport following the Centre's call for energy conservation during heightened tensions in West Asia. With the situation now considered stable, the government has decided to restore normal office operations.
Under the revised schedule, Delhi government offices will return to their regular working hours, while departments have been instructed to resume full in-person attendance. The rollback marks the end of the temporary conservation measures, although the government has said it will continue promoting energy efficiency and public transport as part of its long-term sustainability initiatives.
