Delhi CM presented report card to Chandni Chowk

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday reached out to residents of Chandni Chowk and presented her government’s one-year report card. The Chief Minister asserted that long-pending works in the constituency have finally begun moving forward after a 27-year gap.
The Chief Minister visited the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency under the ‘Pravas Programme’, and interacted with local residents. She highlighted key achievements of the BJP Government’s first year in office. She said the administration has laid a strong foundation for systemic change and visible development across Delhi.
Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said Chandni Chowk, once marked by neglect and pending civic issues, is now witnessing a new phase of development. She termed the project to lay overhead electricity wires underground as a historic step. The move aims to preserve the heritage aesthetics of the area while improving infrastructure and safety.
The Chief Minister said her government is working with full commitment towards its five-point resolve to make Delhi clean, healthy, safe, green, and equipped with strong basic infrastructure. She added that the vision of a ‘Viksit Delhi’ is no longer limited to announcements but is now visible on the ground. “Within one year of receiving the people’s mandate, we have begun completing works that were pending for decades,” she said. The Chief Minister maintained that the transformation is evident in every street, colony, and Assembly constituency.
Describing Chandni Chowk as a cultural and heritage hub of the Capital, the Chief Minister said integrating modern amenities with its historic character is a priority. She stressed that development in such areas must be balanced with preservation.
The programme was attended by Member of Parliament Praveen Khandelwal and Yogender Chandolia. MLAs Tilak Ram Gupta and Ashok Goel were also present, along with senior public representatives and party office-bearers.
The outreach forms part of the government’s broader effort to directly engage with citizens and present its performance record after completing one year in office.
