Defence entrepreneur Sahil Luthra receives fresh death threats

Several prominent public figures, including Gippy Grewal, Emiway Bantai, and Yo Yo Honey Singh, have in recent years reportedly received extortion-linked threats allegedly issued in the name of gangster Goldy Brar and the Lawrence Bishnoi network. Investigators are now examining whether a similar intimidation pattern may be connected to fresh death threats received by defence entrepreneur Sahil Luthra.
Fresh threats allegedly issued to Luthra by individuals claiming links to Goldy Brar have prompted renewed action by Delhi Police, with the Special Cell formally taking cognisance of a complaint filed on April 24, 2026. Officials said the matter was forwarded by the Office of the Commissioner of Police to the Special Cell on May 6 for detailed investigation and necessary action.
Sources familiar with the case said the latest complaint is being treated as part of an ongoing extortion and intimidation probe already under examination by specialised agencies. The threats are believed to be linked to a continuing campaign targeting Luthra, the Managing Director of Vijayan Trishul Defence Solutions (VTDS), a company involved in defence manufacturing and ammunition infrastructure projects.
According to officials, Luthra has allegedly been receiving threats since late 2024, around the time his company announced strategic expansion plans in Punjab and other defence-linked regions. Earlier complaints reportedly included extortion demands worth several crores along with repeated warnings delivered through international VoIP-based calls originating from multiple countries.
Investigators said the latest threats carry similarities in language, tone, and communication methods to earlier messages that allegedly referenced organised criminal elements. Agencies are now consolidating past and present complaints while examining possible cross-border coordination and digital communication trails.
Officials are also studying whether the alleged modus operandi resembles patterns seen in previous high-profile intimidation cases involving individuals claiming association with Goldy Brar-linked networks.
In one such case, a purported audio clip linked to threats against Gippy Grewal had drawn widespread attention over concerns surrounding overseas gang-linked intimidation tactics.
The Luthra case had earlier come into focus after threatening calls allegedly referenced a firing incident outside his Amritsar residence in November last year. While that matter remains under investigation by the Punjab Police, cyber forensic teams are now analysing fresh digital evidence submitted with the latest complaint.
Delhi Police Special Cell has not issued an official statement on the specifics of the case. However, officials confirmed that investigations are actively underway and all relevant angles, including possible international linkages, are being examined.
