CM to attend swearing-in of new BJP Govt in West Bengal

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will attend the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected BJP Government in West Bengal, officials said on Friday. Gupta will leave on Saturday morning to attend the ceremony in Kolkata and to extend her best wishes to the new Government.
Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who defeated Mamata Banerjee from the Bhabanipur seat, will take oath as the new chief minister of West Bengal on Saturday. He will be the first chief minister from the BJP in the State.
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced Adhikari’s election as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party in West Bengal.
Several BJP leaders from Delhi, including Chief Minister Gupta and her Cabinet colleagues, had extensively campaigned for the elections, in which the party won a massive mandate.
