CM, Speaker pay tributes to BR Ambedkar on birth anniversary

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Speaker Vijender Gupta and other BJP leaders on Tuesday paid tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary, saying her government is working for the empowerment of every citizen in the city.
She offered floral tributes at his statue at 26, Alipur Road, his Mahaparinirvan site, and paid homage to Babasaheb's legacy. To mark the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and formally dedicated state-of-the-art water ATMs for public use in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency.
In a post on X, she said Ambedkar's thoughts and ideals give energy to her government to work towards a progressive and inclusive society.

“Baba Saheb's life struggle for ensuring justice, equality and rights to even the last person in society is a source of inspiration for all of us. The Delhi government is fully committed to the empowerment and all-round development of every citizen as per his ideals,” she said.
Marking Ambedkar Jayanti, the chief minister also inaugurated water ATMs at several locations in Shalimar Bagh, her assembly constituency.
The ATMs have a capacity to provide 2,000 litres of pure water per hour, based on a five-stage RO technique. A total of seven water ATMs have been installed across wards 55, 56 and 57 in the constituency. She also distributed water ATM cards to local residents to ensure regular access to safe drinking water. Equipped with modern technology, these facilities are expected to play a key role in providing clean, safe and easily accessible water to the public.
The Chief Minister said people will be able to use water ATM cards to take 20 litres of water every day, and the machines will be monitored round-the-clock.
