CM dedicates 81 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to public

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday dedicated 81 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to the public, taking the total number of operational centres in Delhi to 319. The new centres were inaugurated from the Hari Nagar Assembly constituency on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
The Delhi government has set a target of establishing 15 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in each Assembly constituency and a total of 1,100 centres across the city to provide free healthcare close to people’s homes.
“These are not just health centres. They are a guarantee of dignified and accessible treatment for every citizen of Delhi,” Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, underlining the government’s focus on strengthening primary healthcare to reduce pressure on major hospitals.
Besides, Education Minister Ashish Sood inaugurated a new Arogya Mandir at C-2 Block, Janakpuri. This Arogya Mandir will provide free primary healthcare services to local residents. Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh inaugurated the newly established Ayushman Aarogya Mandir at Bhimnagari, Malviya Nagar, reinforcing Delhi’s commitment to community-led and accessible primary healthcare. The Minister for Art, Culture, Language & Tourism, Kapil Mishra, inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the MCW Centre in Sonia Vihar, Karawal Nagar.
The Chief Minister inspected several facilities at the newly inaugurated Arogya Mandir, including OPD rooms, laboratories, medicine distribution counters, vaccination units, and maternal and child care sections. She reviewed operational systems, interacted with doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, and sought feedback on service delivery and patient footfalls. She also examined patient registration and digital health record systems and directed officials to ensure accuracy, transparency and ease of access for beneficiaries.
The event was attended by Hari Nagar MLA Shyam Sharma and senior officials of the Health Department. The Chief Minister said the launch of 81 new centres marked a significant step towards fulfilling the long-standing demand for accessible and free healthcare at the neighbourhood level.
Over the past 11 months, the Delhi government has operationalised 319 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, expanded Jan Aushadhi Kendras, added new blocks in five major hospitals, installed additional dialysis machines, and digitised government hospitals, the Chief Minister said. Patients can now book OPD appointments and access medical records through mobile phones, improving transparency and convenience.
The Chief Minister said more than six lakh residents of Delhi have already been registered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, with thousands of families availing free treatment. She added that the income eligibility limit for treatment under the economically weaker section category has been increased from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, expanding the beneficiary base.
According to the Health Department, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are designed to serve as the first point of contact for healthcare. Each centre provides outpatient services, free essential medicines and a wide range of diagnostic tests, helping address common illnesses and chronic conditions at the local level.
The services offered include consultations by doctors and trained nursing staff, nearly 80 types of diagnostic tests, maternal and child healthcare, immunisation and growth monitoring, mental health services, nutrition counselling and day-care treatment facilities.
Inaugurating the Arogya Mandir at Janakpuri, Sood said that this Arogya Mandir is a symbol of the changing government in Delhi and its strong commitment to public health.
Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh inaugurated the newly established Ayushman Aarogya Mandir at Bhimnagari, Malviya Nagar, reinforcing Delhi’s commitment to community-led and accessible primary healthcare. The Bhimnagari centre has been developed as a fully equipped modern primary health facility offering a wide range of services, including general OPD, dental OPD, eye OPD, laboratory services, pharmacy, health education, and vaccination services, including child immunisation. Additionally, the centre features a dedicated Dental Care Unit, a Yoga and Wellness Room, and comprehensive preventive-care services. It currently conducts over 100 in-house diagnostic tests, including essential blood work and routine screenings, with plans underway to expand this capacity to more than 200 tests in the coming days.
The Minister for Art, Culture, Language & Tourism, Kapil Mishra, inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the MCW Centre in Sonia Vihar, Karawal Nagar. On this occasion, the minister said that there is also a plan to start a full-fledged hospital in the assembly constituency during this very tenure.
