CBI seeks 5-day custody extension for Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh in Twisha Sharma Death Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sought a five-day extension of custody for retired judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh in connection with the high-profile Twisha Sharma death case, marking a significant development in the ongoing probe.
According to officials, the agency argued that further custodial interrogation is required to confront the accused with evidence and clarify inconsistencies linked to allegations of dowry harassment, conspiracy, and suspicious circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death. The case has already seen multiple legal twists, including arrests and bail cancellations.
The CBI recently intensified its investigation after the Madhya Pradesh High Court quashed Giribala Singh’s anticipatory bail, allowing the agency to take her into custody. Samarth Singh, Twisha Sharma’s husband, is also under investigation and has been in custody as part of the ongoing probe.
The case has drawn nationwide attention due to allegations of dowry-related abuse and conflicting claims over the circumstances of Twisha Sharma’s death, which was initially reported as a suicide but is now being investigated as a suspected case of foul play.
The court is expected to hear the CBI’s custody extension plea in the next hearing as the investigation continues.
