Case filed after posters targeting Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi appear in Wayanad

Police have registered a case after posters targeting Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and party president Mallikarjun Kharge were found displayed in Wayanad, Kerala. Officials said the posters appeared on the walls of the District Congress Committee (DCC) office and nearby areas in Kalpetta.
The case was registered after a complaint was filed by MLA T Siddique. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the posters surfaced on May 13 during a period of political discussions and uncertainty surrounding the selection of Kerala's next Chief Minister.
Officials stated that some of the posters allegedly contained political messages against the Congress leaders and also warned that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who currently represents Wayanad as a Member of Parliament, could face defeat in future elections.
Congress workers reportedly removed the posters shortly after they were discovered. Police have registered the matter under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Kerala Police Act.
Authorities are now examining CCTV footage and working to identify the person involved in putting up the posters.
