Bhopal to digitally monitor all Govt schools

In a major push towards technology-driven governance in the education sector, the Bhopal district administration has decided to establish a Centralised Education Monitoring System that will enable round-the-clock monitoring of government schools through a dedicated control command centre. The initiative aims to strengthen accountability, improve learning outcomes and ensure that every aspect of school functioning is tracked through a robust digital mechanism.
The command centre will monitor key parameters, including student attendance, dropout records, generation of APAAR IDs, school bus safety, infrastructure, academic performance and implementation of various Government schemes. District officials believe the technology-enabled system will help identify shortcomings in real time and facilitate prompt corrective action.
The decision was taken during a review meeting of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan held at Sandipani School, where Collector Priyank Mishra emphasised that improving the quality of education remains one of the district administration’s top priorities. He said the education system must become more transparent, data-driven and outcome-oriented to ensure better learning opportunities for every child.
Issuing a stern warning against manipulation of official records, Mishra directed officials to upload accurate and verified data of students who have dropped out of school. He made it clear that any attempt to conceal facts, submit incorrect information or display negligence would invite strict disciplinary action against the officials concerned. To ensure quicker resolution of school-related issues, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and the District Education Officer have been designated as the first point of contact for Government schools.
The administration has also directed education officials to ensure 100 per cent generation of APAAR IDs for students and timely admission of eligible children under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. Increasing enrolment and preventing school dropouts will remain key focus areas under the district’s education strategy.
Student safety has also been accorded high priority. All school buses have been instructed to keep CCTV cameras and panic buttons operational at all times. Police and Regional Transport Office (RTO) teams will conduct regular inspections of school vehicles, while drivers and conductors will undergo breathalyser tests to ensure safe transportation of students.
In line with the National Education Policy, the district administration has asked schools to strengthen skill-based education by activating Atal Tinkering Labs and ensuring that every student acquires at least one practical, employment-oriented skill. Directions have also been issued for regular teacher training, timely completion of infrastructure projects under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, solarisation of school campuses and the provision of nutritious meals under the PM Poshan Scheme.
