Bengaluru Law student killed after ending relationship, boyfriend and brother arrested

A 24-year-old law student in Bengaluru has died after being allegedly stabbed by the brother of her former boyfriend, days after she ended the relationship upon discovering that he had hidden his previous marriage and child. The victim, Amrutha, was attacked near her home in Kodihalli on July 13 and succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment in hospital.

According to police, Amrutha had been in a relationship with Dhanush, whom she met through a family acquaintance. She reportedly broke off the relationship after learning that he had concealed important details about his personal life.

Investigators allege that Dhanush's brother, Surya, confronted Amrutha near her residence, and during an argument, allegedly stabbed her multiple times before fleeing. Police said both brothers have since been arrested in connection with the case.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the sequence of events and the roles of both accused. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over violence linked to personal relationships and the need for stronger measures to protect women from threats and harassment.
