Ayodhya Court reserves order on police plea for custody of 3 accused in Ram Temple donation case

A court in Ayodhya reserved its order on a police application seeking custody of 3 accused arrested in the alleged Ram Temple donation embezzlement case. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has sought custodial interrogation to probe the suspected diversion of donation funds and identify others who may have been involved in the alleged conspiracy.
The police argued before the court that custodial interrogation of the three accused was necessary to uncover the money trail, recover additional evidence and verify the roles of other suspects. The SIT has already questioned several individuals connected to the case and is examining financial transactions linked to the alleged misappropriation of temple donations.
Earlier, eight accused in the case were sent to judicial custody after their arrest in connection with the alleged donation theft. The investigation has since expanded, with officials probing security lapses, financial records and the handling of donations received at the Ram Temple.
The case has triggered significant developments within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. On Monday, the Trust accepted the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra and announced administrative reforms aimed at strengthening transparency and oversight in the management of temple affairs.
The SIT continues to investigate the alleged embezzlement and has indicated that further action may follow based on the outcome of custodial interrogation and forensic examination of financial records. The court is expected to pronounce its order on the police plea shortly.
