Assembly Winter Session may see issue of Faansi Ghar

The upcoming winter session of the Delhi Assembly, from January 5, may see the issue of ‘Faansi Ghar,’ as the business advisory committee of the Assembly on Friday adopted a resolution which will be laid in the house.
The Committee met to consider the issue concerning the authenticity of the structure referred to as ‘Faansi Ghar’, which was inaugurated within the Assembly premises on 9 August 2022, according to a statement by the Assembly.
The matter, having earlier been examined by the Committee of Privileges, was subsequently taken up by the Business Advisory Committee to determine the appropriate procedural course for its consideration by the House.
Upon deliberation, the Committee adopted a resolution, which shall be laid before the House during the Fourth (Winter) Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly, scheduled to be held from 5 to 8 January 2026.
The meeting was attended by Speaker Vijender Gupta, Deputy Speaker (Chairperson) Mohan Singh Bisht, Deputy Speaker Abhay Verma, Jitender Mahajan, Om Prakash Sharma, and Som Dutt.
The issue had arisen after concerns were raised by the Speaker regarding the authenticity of the said structure, following which the Committee of Privileges was directed to undertake a detailed examination. In the course of its proceedings, the Committee of Privileges provided opportunities to the concerned individuals to present their version on record.
It was noted during the inquiry that, despite being afforded two opportunities, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Ram Niwas Goel and Rakhi Birla did not appear before the Committee of Privileges.
