Assembly to organise Musical Ram Katha on May 6: Speaker

The Delhi Assembly will organise a special spiritual-cultural extravaganza, Musical Ram Katha, on May 6. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said on Saturday that renowned Ram Katha exponent Dr Kumar Vishwas will present, in his distinctive style, a musical rendition titled ‘Apne Apne Ram’, bringing to life the life, ideals, and human values of Lord Ram, where several Union and Delhi cabinet ministers, along with other VIPs, have been invited.
“This is no mere recital; it’s a clarion call to rekindle righteousness (dharma), truth (satya), and duty in every heart. Gupta, announcing the event, hailed Lord Ram not as a distant deity but as the pulsating core of Indian philosophy.
“The objective of this programme goes beyond mere narration of the Katha. It seeks to inspire every section of society with the values of righteousness, truthfulness, and a deep sense of duty,” Gupta said. He added that key episodes from the life of Lord Ram, such as sacrifice, struggle, commitment to duty, and exemplary leadership, will be presented through a harmonious blend of music, poetry, and narration. “This presentation will not only offer a spiritual experience but will also promote social harmony and strengthen awareness of ethical values,” he further said.
The speaker emphasised that in today’s evolving social landscape, where the need for value-based living is increasingly being felt, such programmes play a vital role in guiding society in a positive direction.
The central message of Lord Ram’s life is ‘Maryada’ (righteous conduct and discipline), a principle that instills a sense of responsibility and moral boundaries in individuals.
