Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta hails budget

Hailing the budget presented in Parliament on Sunday, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta described it as a landmark and visionary that provides a strong roadmap for building a Viksit Bharat.
Congratulating Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on presenting her ninth consecutive budget, he said it reflects a comprehensive and forward-looking vision of national transformation, aimed at making India self-reliant while strengthening small businesses, empowering the middle class, and simplifying compliance through trust-based governance.
The Budget, he noted, balances high growth momentum with inclusive development, ensuring that the benefits of growth reach all sections of society.
The Speaker welcomed the record public capital expenditure of Rs 12.2 lakh crore on infrastructure, stating that this massive investment will act as a powerful engine of growth by creating robust physical and digital foundations for a modern and competitive economy.
He observed that a sustained infrastructure push will catalyse employment generation, enhance productivity, and improve logistics efficiency across sectors, strengthening India’s overall economic competitiveness.
Gupta said the Union Budget 2026–27 strongly reflects the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his resolute commitment to building a Viksit Bharat, a developed, self-reliant, and inclusive India by 2047.
He noted that the Prime Minister’s vision of development rests on four key pillars – the poor, farmers, youth, and women, and the Budget translates this vision into actionable policies through sustained investment in infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, human capital, and social security.
Gupta appreciated the strategic focus on deep-tech and advanced manufacturing, including the launch of India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0 and the development of Rare Earth Corridors across mineral-rich states.
He said these initiatives will strengthen India’s technological sovereignty and position the country as a global leader in high-tech manufacturing. Commending the thrust on MSMEs, exports, and domestic manufacturing, he noted that initiatives such as the Container Manufacturing Scheme, Electronics Components Scheme, biopharma push, and removal of the courier export cap will integrate the Indian industry with global value chains and empower small entrepreneurs and artisans to access international markets.
