Four arrested as Assam Police seize Yaba tablets worth Rs 2 crore

Four people have been arrested in Assam’s Sribhumi district after police seized 20,000 Yaba tablets worth an estimated Rs 2 crore in two separate operations, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
Sarma said the contraband, commonly known as “crazy medicine” in Thailand, was recovered by the Sribhumi Police during the operations. He warned those involved in drug trafficking against bringing narcotics into Assam.
The tablets contain methamphetamine, a controlled stimulant, along with caffeine. Police have initiated the necessary legal proceedings against the four accused, an officer said.
The seizures were part of Assam Police’s ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the state.
