Amit Shah pitches for Nasha Mukt Bharat

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the Government is reviewing the NDPS Act to close loopholes exploited by narcotics syndicates and to take a strict approach toward drug peddlers and suppliers.
Shah released a three-year vision document on narcotics control (2026-2029), developed through extensive consultations with central government departments, drug law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders, highlighting the NDA Government's pitch, Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug free India).
The document sets out a shared roadmap for the demand-reduction, supply-reduction, and harm-reduction aspects of the drug problem. The roadmap outlines a network-centric enforcement approach.
It defines responsibilities, timelines, and measurable targets for all stakeholders. It integrates enforcement, demand reduction, rehabilitation, public awareness, capacity building, and inter-agency coordination.
