Amit Shah greets CISF on its raising day

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday greeted Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on its raising day. In a post on X, Shah said, “Greetings to the CISF personnel on Raising Day. Whether safeguarding the nation’s vital installations or shielding the nation during crises, their dedication reflects the true spirit of patriotism and professionalism. Tributes to martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the country.” The CISF was formed in 1968 through a law passed by the Parliament with 3,129 personnel. Establishing itself as a multi-faceted Central Armed Police Force, the force grew to a robust 2.20 lakh personnel, deployed across almost all States, providing security to 361 critical installations of national importance, including 70 airports.
